The Great Indoors is an initiative of Bureau Europa, Marres Projects, and FRAME magazine, and in 2013 takes place for the fourth time. This edition’s theme 'The Nature of Things' is a study of the material and immaterial developments of interiors within a globalized reality.
With a special insert in its January/February 2014 issue, FRAME Magazine will feature the winners and nominees of The Great Indoors Award 2013.

The education programme consists of a series of workshops, where groups of students, under the guidance of a mentor, work on an assignment for a ‘real’ commissioner at a ‘real’ location. Click here for the participating schools/programmes.
The Great Indoors draws attention to the latest developments in interior design on a (Eu)regional, national and international level. In doing so, The Great Indoors provides an important contribution to research and education in the field of design in the broadest sense of the word.
The Great Indoors is made possible by the City of Maastricht, the Province of Limburg and the Creative Industries Fund.
