This year's projects: Tijuana Creative City

The City of Tijuana, Baja California has been undergoing a substantial positive urban development change over a period of several years. Driven by citizens dedicated to sustainable urban issues, social consciousness and participatory citizenship the development of the City is seeing a major economic, ecological and cultural boost.
 

This year's projects: Redefinition of Alpine Mountain Huts

The Austrian Alpine Association owns over 200 mountain huts and cabins. Many of these are easy to reach today and they have thus lost some of their anchorage in a rescue function.
KMDcc Martin Krammer Consultants for Creative Economy Projects was commissioned with a potential analysis and concept for the further development of Alpine huts, as exemplified by the Mörsbachhütte in Austria’s Lower Tauern Mountains. The condition of the building and the mode of operation could no longer provide sustainable profit and accommodation quality.
 

Flow Field Orchestra - The Volcano Project

The designers Tobias Kestel and Florian Puschmann first approached the explosive issue of lava as a material through site-specific interventions and installations in 2009 on Big Island. This was their first intensive examination of volcanoes and the topographies and spaces developed by lava. This remarkable start is now the basis of a promising follow-up project:
